1. Introduction
The Cycladic Civilization developed during the Early Bronze Age in the island complex of the Cyclades and constitutes one of the oldest and most distinctive cultures of the Aegean. It is characterized by intense maritime activity, advanced marble sculpture, and participation in extensive exchange networks.
It was not a unified state, but rather a group of island communities sharing common cultural characteristics.
